A Swiss colleague who enjoys my music parody videos on YouTube suggested that I prepare a video for the Swiss Travel System’s video casting contest. The Swiss Travel System is the common ticketing and coordinated scheduling system for all public transport in Switzerland and it’s truly fantastic. Makes traveling as a tourist easy and fun.
My concept was to prepare a documentary, no actually a ROCK-umentary, about the Swiss Travel System. Actually the famous director Tryke Lee would make the film and feature all Andy’s songs about parts of the Swiss Travel System (including: O Solo Ticketo – about the single ticketing system, and Voulez Vous Night Bus avec Moi – about using the night bus system in Zurich). Tryke has to take a phone call from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie, so you know he’s an important director. It was a lot of fun making the film.
Unfortunately I did not win the contest, they chose a more conventional approach, but that didn’t stop Andy from preparing a short video describing the trip he made to Japan to ride trains since he wasn’t selected to go to Switzerland. The video, Training Japanese, features lyrics like “You got me training Japanese, I think I’m training Japanese, I really think so …”. You get the idea, here’s the video:
